A New Teacher and a Birthday Celebration

Ms. Manju Thomas of the English Department returned from Bahrain to join the ASAP family at St. Joseph's and to rock the grammar classes.

Meanwhile, the first birthday of Batch I arrived on 3rd June.  The Birthday baby Noufia was surprised with a midnight party by her peers in the hostel.  The next day, the Asap team of teachers surprised her yet again with a birthday cake.  The fun and gaiety, surprises and tenderness captured on pix...

SUNDAY @ ASAP SJC

ASAPians at Sea... :)  Oops! We mean the Sea-shore...

The first weekend of ASAP @ St. Joseph's was very memorable.  Half of the Asapians had either gone home or to write entrance exams or attend interviews.  After a hectic six-day week, they were ready to surface and take a breather.  The beach was ear-marked as a coveted destination, but the torrential downpour with which the day began, seemed to be a dampener of spirits and hopes.  But by noon the skies cleared and here we were 13 students and two teachers, wending our way to the Alappuzha beach, a fav with tourists and locals.  The beach was not crowded as usual... may be the rains had kept them away... The Asapians cavorted among the waves, danced among the breakers, and posed for those inevitable snapshots at any picnic trip.  Here are a few vignettes...

Posing with the Professors...

It was time to let one's hair down and paint the town red!  The girls made it like mermaids and did not want to return to the shore.  Dimena had one small disappointment.  She could not wrangle a companion for a camel ride!  Next time, Dimena!  One more Sunday left.

And to speak of luck... 20 minutes after the girls were safely back at the hostel, the skies opened their flood gates... and has not closed them yet.

Cheerio...  Till we meet again...!  :)
